Cloverleaf Project ~ Before and After

When the clients first contacted us, they had 3 musts: remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room, the kitchen should be fit for a cook with chef training, the style should reflect the Midcentury architectural features in a sophisticated, subtle way.  See how we accomplished these and more.

The existing entry was a bit awkward with a large, unused, closet and poorly “updated” tile floor. We removed the closet and chose a bright white for the walls. The clients graciously allowed us to have fun with pattern and a bit of color through new cement tile floor and a statement light fixture. There is now space to sit, organize and welcome guests comfortably.

We not only removed the wall between the 2 spaces but also the other which created an unnecessary hallway and wasted square footage. After opening up the space (including the removal of a pantry closet in the hallway – becoming a bar), we discovered an amazing space to create the perfect Chef’s kitchen for this family and it’s main cook.

A large island with seating, a dropped countertop and custom cabinet for baking as well as many feet of prep space are all key features to the success of this space.

BONUS ~ We scored this original McCobb dining set on a shopping trip to a local retro warehouse (Retro Wanderlust). Reupholstery (Omforme) and some touch ups….wha-la…a gorgeous welcome into the new space.

We also reconfigured the living room to a new entertainment wall and created another, reading corner as well as a fireplace seating area. New custom color white oak flooring was installed throughout the first floor.

The new space feels like an all new home, ready for the family to enjoy and share with family and friends. We are thrilled with the results!
